I have been a game warden in Kansas for 6 years.  Prior to becoming a game warden I worked as a police officer for 7 years for 2 smaller departments in Kansas.  I am also on of 5 regional boating specialists in Kansas.  A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and underwent surgery as well as radiation and chemotherapy.  I thought I was going to be one of the "lucky" ones to beat this type of cancer, but on my most recent routine MRI, another mass was found.  I'm scheduled for another surgery this week to remove the tumor and then wait to find out what other treatment options are available.  I would appreciate any and all prayers from my fellow officers.

I had a very good friend in High School who went through this very same thing, I know how hard this must be for you, your family and friends.  You will have our thoughts and prayers.

I can guarantee you that this group will indeed pray for Gods intervention and guidance in your course of treatment. Keep the faith attitude can be everything. As a Police officer you are taught to never-never give up and tell yourself you will survive, this can be very difficult, especially if you have children at home But Cops while independent are also family and please keep us informed on your progress.

Just an update.  Surgery went very well and they were able to remove all of the tumor that was visible on the MRI.  I should be released from the hospital by tomorrow.  I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

I wrote ksgmwarden to ask about his surgery so I thought I would share his reply with you.Recovery has been good.  I haven't been release to return to work yet.  Hopefully in about another 3 weeks.  The doctors are being very cautious, but optomistic.  I've only had one minor setback and I just got too hot that time.  Family is holding up well.  I really appreciate the thoughts and concerns of everyone on here.  It's encouraging to hear from my "brother" officers.

Things are going good (knock on wood)!  I have returned to work and am staying plenty busy.  I have had 2 of my new treatments up to this point and return for a 3rd treatment in about 2 weeks.  I should also find out more news at the next appointment as they will be doing a follow up MRI to check my status.  Keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming!

I had another check up and treatment yesterday (6, November) and it was another excellent report.  MRI was again "clean" and treatments continue to go extremely well.  Thanks to all my "brothers and sisters" in uniform for their kind words and thoughts.  Keep em coming!

Haven't been on here in forever.  Bad news, its back again.  This time its inoperable.  I will be changing treatments in an attempt to stop the growth.  Very discouraging news, but I feel great and plan on working as long as possible.  I still plan on winning the war, just lost this battle.  Thanks to my fellow officers who have written with their concern.

We are saddened to hear of your news. 10 years ago when my wife was dying of liver failure, I relaized that sometimes God heals us by taking us to him. Once I came to grips with that might be a reality I would have to deal with It wasn't so hard for me to deal with. My wife luckily received a liver trasnplant and she was healed, by modern medicine. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts as you and your family deal with this latest challenge. Keep the faith.
