I am 37 year LE veteran, 14 years with Coconino County Sheriff's Department in Arizona, 2 years with the Idaho Attorney General's Office and 20 years with National Park Service, Law Enforcement Division.  I am currently the Uplake District Ranger at Lake Powell and I've been the Park Boating officer here for the past 15 years.  Ten years ago I initiated an investigation into carbon monoxide poisoning fatalities which resulted in congressional hearings and USCG vessel recalls.  I have continued to work in preventing carbon monoxide poisoning and am available to assist in investigations or CO preventive education as needed.

Listening to your (and the Doc's) presentation in Laughlin last week, and the other info I've received over the years, has led me to believe that several "drowning's" and near drownings we've had down here were related to CO.

I've briefed our County ME on the subject and have made sure that he includes the carboxyhemoglobin test in autopsies that may be done, if CO is suspect.
